Art & Film

We are delighted to announce a number of artists working with new media will participate in the 2015 Phase OneElectronic Music and Arts Festival at The Dock Arts Centre, Carrick-on-Shannon, April 3-5 2015.

The visual art lineup for 2015 includes sculpture, installation and interactive digital media by artists David Bickley and Jimmy Eadie of the adventurous Crash Ensemble, an audio installation by Damaso Reyes, new work by Irish artists Alicia Ní Loideáin, Mike Slowey and Shane Finan as well as a cinema of delights from Irish, Welsh and American film-makers including Kathy O’Leary (IRE – Leitrim), Jennida Chase & Hassan Pitts (USA), Cian Flynn (IRE – Sligo), Migrations [Sioned Davies] (WAL), Orla McNelis (IRE – Donegal), Knut Sennekamp and Archaic Revival (Finn O’Connor)

The Visual Arts Trail curated by Shane Finan will feature a number of installations using Gallery Spaces and other locations in the spectacular setting of the Dock. The Dock is a former courthouse, and using this as a concept artists were asked to respond to the history of the space by looking at the idea of law (or digital law), the practice of reinventing places, and the relationship between art and the history of a place.

The exhibition will open at 1pm on Saturday 4th April with a Curators Talk. All welcome.
