CALL FOR ARTISTS
Phase One invites proposals for completed or new artworks for the Phase One Electronic Music & Arts Festival, Easter weekend April 2015.
Phase One is a multi-disciplinary arts festival encompassing music, visual art, site specific performances, animation, film, theatre, master classes and workshops for all ages and abilities. The common thread being the creative use of electronica and digital media.
This will be the third year of the festival taking place in the impressive setting of the Dock Arts Centre in Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim. The festival creates an opportunity for emerging professional artists from the region, and throughout Ireland, to perform and display their work alongside high-profile national and international artists.
DEADLINE: 15th January 2015
EXHIBITION: 1st – 5th April 2015
ELIGIBILITY: Artists of different genres & backgrounds.
SUBMISSIONS: Artist Statement, CV & images to be emailed as attachments.
SITES: Artworks will be presented in a wide range of indoor and outdoor spaces within the proximity of the Dock arts centre. www.thedock.ie/about-the-dock
Artists may describe the type of site desired, and may make site-specific proposals for sites within or near the festival area.
EXHIBITION DURATION: Most works will be scheduled for 1-2 nights. Works not requiring security may be exhibited for a longer period.
INSTALLING WORK: Artists are responsible for installing and de-installing their own work (except for certain works in video and sound ). Phase One Music and Arts Festival will provide installation assistance where necessary.
FUNDING: Funding is not guaranteed for the selected artworks or artists, but we will support efforts by the selected artists to obtain outside funding. Limited funding may be available for certain selected artists. Costs for shipping, installing and insuring artworks or equipment are the responsibility of the artist. Whilst every effort will be made to protect artworks during the exhibition, Phase One Music and Arts Festival cannot be held responsible for any damage that may arise to the artworks over the course of the exhibition
All successful artists will receive one VIP weekend pass in their own name to the Phase One Music and Arts Festival.
PROMOTION: All work will be featured on the Phase One website and associated social media campaign. Selected works may be included in the national promotion campaign. Documentation will be made available to the artists.
COMMISSION: There will be a commission of 25% on the sale of all artwork over the course of the exhibition. Arrangements can be made through the visual art curator.

Some examples of indoor and outdoor proposals:
electronic music projects: any style expressed in live set, performance and pre-recorded sound artworks.
audiovisual mapping: live performances, short films, VJing and public interaction.
interactive art; generative, digital, electronics, kinetics, robotics, software art; net art, video, sound and light installations, performance and actions.
architectural structures: light, temporary, mobile and / or reusable, installations, interventions and projects that provide innovative technological ideas that embrace the common theme of the festival.
Masterclasses, round tables discussions, presentations, workshops.
